Early Childhood Educator (ECE)
At the First step daycare centre, we are searching for one ECE (Early childhood educator) for infants and toddlers to join us at Surrey, British Columbia location as soon as possible.
Role Description:
The Early Childhood Educator (Infant and toddlers) would be responsible for ensuring the daily assigned duties related to childhood educator, guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.

Wage Rate: $ 19.00 CDN per hour (overtime paid after 40 hours per week)
Work hours per week: 37.50 to 40 hours per week (Possibility of over-time)

Job Duties:
- Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, mental, emotional, and social development of children.
- Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest, and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
- Assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisor
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- May supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants when required.
Requirements:
- Completion of a two-year college program in early childhood education is required.
- 1 – 2 years of experience in childcare is required.
· Ability to follow detailed work instructions to complete tasks.
· Must be able to work independently and as a team.
Work Conditions:
· Include traveling between Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland in British Columbia, Canada
· Standing for extended periods of time.
- Physical Aptitude for bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing a staircase, reaching, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
